Physical Therapy Staff
Our knowledgeable and friendly staff is committed to providing high quality, individualized care and attention to patients and clients. Our therapists remain up-to-date on current research related to the evaluation and treatment of orthopaedic and sports-related conditions. Physical therapists are considered to be the experts in movement, biomechanics, and the optimization of function; therefore, it is our responsibility and privilege to apply evidence-based intervention to ensure the most effective outcomes for our patients. We believe in encouraging active patient involvement when establishing a plan of care in order to meet unique, individual needs.
VALERIE GLUTH, PT, OWNER
Valerie graduated with a certificate and degree in Physical Therapy from the University of Health Sciences of Chicago Medical School (now Rosalind Franklin University) in 1979. She pursued an intensive, year-long post-professional fellowship program in orthopedic manual physical therapy in Northern California at the Kaiser Hayward PT Fellowship Program in 1986-87. Such rigorous training identifies Valerie as having a mastery of manual therapy skills beyond the level acquired by continuing education or entry level study. As a result, Valerie demonstrates advanced expertise in examination, evaluation, diagnosis, prognosis, intervention, and management of orthopedic patients. Valerie opened Mountain View Physical Therapy in 1995. She specializes in orthopedic manual therapy of the spine and extremities, as well as neural mobilization. Valerie is a skilled practitioner of Dry Needling and Graston Technique. Valerie also completed her rehabilitation certification in The Balanced Body Method of Pilates-based exercise through Polestar Education, directed by Elizabeth Larkin, MA, and Brent Anderson, PT. Valerie is a board member of Mount Evans Home Health Care and Hospice, serving on the Professional Advisory Committee. She is a past board member for five years for the national Private Practitioner Physical Therapist Network (PTPN). She is also a past board member for two years for the local Colorado Private Practitioner Physical Therapist Network (CPTN) and a present board member of Women of Evergreen Business (WEB).
CATHY DONAHUE, PT
Cathy graduated with a degree in Physical Therapy from Indiana University in 1983, and also with a Masters of Business Administration from Amberton University in 2002. Prior to relocating to Colorado, she gained extensive hands-on experience working at the Tom Landry Center at Baylor University Health Center, the Texas Back Institute, Dallas Medical City Hospital, and the Baylor Institute for Rehabilitation. Cathy specializes in osteopathic approaches to treating mechanical dysfunction of the SI joint, and lumbar and cervial regions using muscle energy techniques. She is also adept at using strain-counterstrain and functional dry needling techniques to reduce pain and restore function. She believes in a hands-on, personal relationship with each patient across all ages. Cathy is an avid skier, and enjoys any outdoor activity when the slopes are closed. She especially enjoys spending free time with her husband and two dogs Boo and Chloe (and one grand-puppy, Effy).
CHERIE POPE-EAGEN, PT
Cherie graduated with a degree in Physical Therapy from the University of Colorado Health Sciences Center in 1988. Previous to her physical therapy education, Cherie worked as a massage therapist, earning her CMT certification through the Evergreen School of Healing Arts in 1981 and recently has been trained in Graston Technique of soft tissue mobilization. She has been certified in The Balanced Body Method of Pilates-based exercise through Polestar Education since 1997. Cherie also completed her certification in The Feldenkrais Method of Neuromuscular Reorganization through the Movement Studies Institute in 1999. Recently, Cherie has completed her Master’s Certification in Health and Wellness Coaching and is looking forward to working with individuals to reach their health and wellness goals.
ANDREA WOOD, PTA
Andrea graduated in 1999 from the Ohio State University with a Bachelor of Science degree where she played varsity volleyball and 2011 received her an Associate of Applied Science degree in the Physical Therapy Assistant Program from Arapahoe Community College. She is highly experienced in orthopedics and also working with worker’s compensations patients. Andrea has a special interest in working with the elderly on strength, posture, and balance. In addition Andrea has been coaching volleyball at the high school level for the past 20 years and enjoys working with youth and high school athletes to prevent sports related injuries, and improve core strength and general conditioning. She is an instructor at Mountain View Physical Therapy for the N’Balance training class and the Core Strength for Teens class.
PT Technical Staff
Tim is a recently retired Army Veteran and Physical Therapist technician at Mountain View Physical Therapy. He has a Nutritional background and currently working on personal training qualifications through the International Sports Science Association (ISSA). Tim is also working towards finishing his B.S. in Exercise Science and applying to Physical Therapy Schools for a new career as a Physical Therapist. During his time in the Army, Tim became a certified Master Fitness Trainer and has a vast knowledge of group physical training sessions. Tim is also a Beach Body Fitness Coach and he has a special interest in helping others achieve their fitness goals and overall well-being.
