Pilates Mat Classes

Mat Pilates
Instructor: Valerie Gluth PT
Intermediate Class

This is a fast paced class appropriate for those familiar with Pilates mat exercises. This class goes beyond the basics and progresses core strength and stability by utilizing advanced exercise along with props such as the Pilates flex circle, rolls, small ball, gliding discs and weights. Be prepared for a dynamic and fun workout!

Beginner Class

This class is for those who are new to Pilates, or who would like to work at a slower pace. It is also appropriate for those with physical issues involving the back, neck and peripheral joints. (Please inform your instructor of your particular issues) This class does progress quickly once the basics of breathing and proper form are attained.


PiYo
Instructor: Lanette Vogel PT

PiYo combines the muscle-sculpting, core-firming benefits of Pilates with the strength and flexibility advantages of Yoga. There is added resistance at times with weights and leg strengthening exercises for a total body work-out. The speed of movement is increased for a true fat-burning, low-impact workout that leaves your body looking long, lean, and incredibly defined. Lanette is a Physical Therapist and is able to modify exercises for those recovering from an injury, as well as, challenge clients with the PiYo moves. Come join us for a fun work-out and bring a friend.


Pilates + Strength + Balance
Instructor: Lanette Vogel PT

This is a beginning/intermediate class and available for clients who are transitioning from rehabilitation into a fitness class. This class includes Pilates – strengthening the “powerhouse”, (abdominals, gluteals and low back), upper body strengthening with weights and tubing, and lower body strengthening and balance at the ballet bar. There is stretching throughout the class to lengthen the muscles. The instructor will modify the exercises as needed.


Beginning Pilates
Instructor: Liz Deville

This class is designed for those who have no mat Pilates experience, or would enjoy working at a slower and more concise pace. It is also a great complement to your at-home Pilates video workout. Working with an Instructor can fine tune form and provide a better understanding of the Pilates moves. Emphasis is placed on form, alignment and breathing, allowing the student to receive the most from the hour long workout.


Functional Pilates
Instructor: Liz Deville

Functional Pilates uses the Swiss ball, foam rollers, and weights to give a total body workout on an unstable surface, which develops the core, enhances balance, and improves posture. Liz Deville was a professional modern dancer and is currently a competitive Country ballroom dancer. She brings to the class a lifetime spent working with bodies moving in space. Her classes stress proper biomechanics to develop a well balanced body with a minimum stress to the joints. This class is open to all fitness levels and ages. However, participants must be able to get down onto the floor and get back up independently.


Somatic Yoga Education

Somatic Yoga is a safe and gentle approach to eliminating chronic muscle pain for the long term. It is a sensory motor training method that teaches you to reverse the root cause of most chronic muscle pain and gives you strategies to reduce muscle tension and pain in the future. Somatic Education teaches you, through simple movements, how to relax the muscles that contribute to your pain.

Monday, Thursday: 8am - 6pm
Tuesday: 8am to 7 pm
Wednesday: 8am to 6:30pm
Friday: 8am to 5pm
Saturday: 8am to 12 noon

Self Pay Rates

Mountain View Physical Therapy offers a self-pay rate of $105 for the initial evaluation and $70 for subsequent visits.
