Strengthening and Endurance Class for Active Adults 60+
Join Active adults 60+ for a total-body workout appropriate for any fitness level. This class is designed to increase muscular strength, cardiovascular endurance, range of movements, improve balance and coordination, and maintain independence in performing activities of daily living. While we work on strength and endurance we will also emphasize correct posture. We will use hand-held weight, elastic tubing, exercise ball, balance pads, and chairs for seated and standing support.
(Class does not require you to be able to get up and down off of the floor).
In addition, increasing muscular and cardiovascular endurance will allow you to perform everyday activities like climbing stairs and getting out of a car or chair with greater ease, and with less risk of falling. This freedom of movement can have a considerable impact on your quality of life.
Instructor: Andrea Wood, Physical Therapist Assistant
